The Graduate Visual Culture Association (GVCA) is calling for papers ahead of the annual graduate research conference, . The 2023 conference is on the theme of "Scandal", exploring the intersections of art and scandal throughout history. The conference will happen in a hybrid format from February 2-4, 2023.
Emy Kim, Assistant Professor of Artifacts Conservation, has received $30,000 in funding from a SSHRC Connection Grant for "Antiquities through Modern Eyes", the 2023 exhibition at City Hall and accompanying symposium and online exhibition. Prof. Kim will take on the role of PI with Prof.
Following her summer internship at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts's Conservation Department, Art Conservation student Antonia Mappin-Kasirer has published an article detailing her work. is published in English and on the MMFA's online magazine.

The seminar happens October 5, 2022, 2:30-4:00pm in Watson Hall 517.
A big congratulations to Art Conservation students Carl Magarro, Doris Fuller Ruiz, and John Habib, who have all been selected by the National Gallery of Canada for its ! The M.A.C. candidates will take part in the 12-week internship, working alongside experienced conservators.
The Department of Art History & Art Conservation remembers Isabel Bader (LLD '07), who passed away on Sunday. Along with her late husband, Alfred Bader, Isabel was known for her generosity to the Â鶹´«Ã½ community. Their Bader Collection -- a donation of over 500 artworks -- included four paintings by Rembrandt, and the Bader name graces the College at Herstmonceux Castle, and Kingston's waterfront Centre for the Performing Arts.
