Human Resources is continuing to advance its commitment to employee wellbeing through year-round Thrive 365 programming, designed to foster engagement, wellbeing, and connection across the Queen’s community. Open to all faculty and staff, Thrive 365 offers monthly opportunities for employees to pause, reflect, and prioritize personal and collective wellness through events, workshops, and drop-in sessions. All programming is available at no cost through Human Resources.
August Theme: Social Wellness
This month, Thrive 365 is spotlighting Social Wellness, one of the nine dimensions of wellness, with events that promote meaningful connection and inclusion. Highlights of the August schedule include:
- Virtual reflection sessions: opportunities to learn and exchange ideas around creating more connected work environments like Putting Engagement on the Agenda.
- Group fitness classes: enjoy movement-based sessions such as Barre, Zumba, and Spin that encourage connection through shared physical activity.
- Weekly gardening drop-ins: every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m., take a mindful break with colleagues in the new garden beds behind Nicol Hall.
- TELUS Health webinars: resources on goal setting, time management, and remote work to help build healthy habits and workplace relationships.
Looking Ahead: Thrive Week Returns This Fall
Mark your calendars for Thrive Week 2025, taking place from November 3–7. This year’s theme, “Thrive Together: Cultivating Connection, Inclusivity, and Community,” is rooted in direct feedback received from the Queen’s community. Thrive Week will include a number of unique offerings such as keynote speakers, panel discussions, in-person and virtual workshops, and employee-led events. Stay tuned for more information about Thrive Week, and a full event schedule to be released in October.
Upcoming Monthly Wellness Themes
Each month this fall, Thrive 365 programming will focus on a specific wellness theme to help employees build awareness, develop new skills, and access supports across different areas of wellbeing. Upcoming themes include:
- Occupational Wellness (September): Topics will explore workload culture, engagement, and the role of purpose in our work.
- Financial Wellness (October): Sessions will promote financial literacy and offer tools for short and long-term planning.
- All Dimensions of Wellness including Thrive Week (November): Expanded programming across all nine dimensions, with a focus on holistic wellbeing.
- Cultural and Emotional Wellness (December): Reflections on identity, values, emotional health, and celebration to close out the year.
